Game is fairly new and fun at the same time, alhough I suggest there should be a fix where when I dash I can be able to jump at any instant, rather than dashing and the moment I try to jump it does not allow me to do so. Very fun game and if you where a fan of Megaman, i highly suggest you play Metagal! :D. I can't even begin to imagine why people blast this game for being to hard. Have you ever played Megman 1? Old school games are brutal. They don't hold your hand. They don't tell you exactly what to do. They make you curse and throw your controller. It is nice to see some games like this make somewhat of a comeback!I think this game is great! It is obviously inspired by Megaman, but it has it's own flavor. The music is very catchy, and the pixel graphics are vibrant. Best of all, the controls are very zippy and responsive. I love a game where, when you press the button, the gal on-screen moves, instantly. That is something that is difficult to achieve sometimes with today's digital displays and myriad of resolutions (*cough* cuphead *cough*)Also, someone mentioned that the English translation isn't spot-on... I for one, find bad translations charming. You can tell what they mean! In short, if you want a game that is NES hard, this is it! If you like tutorials and gradual learning curves, you should keep looking.. This is a fun little game with two notable problems.Metagal is a Mega Man homage and unashamed of it. It is a 2d run and gun platformer with a health bar, boss gates, stage select and the other trappings you find in any good game staring a blue robot. Little new ground has been broken but the engine feels more like a late GBA game than the familar NES classics and fangames.The visuals, sound, and controls all meet expectations. The backgrounds are rich and vibrant while enemy designs are consistent and charming. The songs have strong melodies and good instrumentation. The controls are responsive and tight. Sometimes the shots can feel a bit delayed but it seems to be more a matter of projectile speed and animation than input delay.The game has two significant failings: text and dash.Text- The developers clearly do not use english as their first language -and I support game development all over the world- but if they want to market the game as professionals they need to hire an editor to check their spelling and grammar. Thankfully the story is not the main attraction of the game and the tutorial conveys enough meaning to teach you.Dash- To dash in the game tou need to double-tap forward. There is no other option. No ability to bind to a button. No ability to bind down + jump. Every controller that supports this game has enough buttons to bind an additional but the option is absent. Some may find this to be inconsequential but I see it as a clumsy barrier tangling gameplay. (EDIT: they are already working on the dash button patch)All things considered it is still a functional and cheap game that should be worth picking up if you are a mega fan running out of fangames.. METAGAL Is a pretty fun game but as of now the main character you play as is way too weak when fighting bosses and is filled with generic stock sound effects. You can get hit by the very first boss only 4 hits and you're dead, how many times do you have to hit the bosses? Way too many times to where its not even fun and ruins the pacing of the game. Not only that but the bosses decide to change their patterns out of no where making them way harder than they need to be. The sound effects are pretty mediocer and doesnt have very many in the game all together. A lot of the enemys in METAGA dont have any sound when they die, they just explode with no sound effect at all making the game feel even more unfinished and rushed.I would recommend this game but it still feels unfinished and unpolished.. It's a really challenging game with unique mechanics, enemies, and power ups. Ex. a weapon that will damage and swap places with a foe. It makes you really think about what you do and how you do it. I recommend playing it, rage quitting, then playing it again and repeat. In all seriousness though, you probably will be frustrated a bit, but none of this game is unfair. Playing this game will only make you better with each loss. Each level will test your grit and end with a boss fight, which will afterward reward you with a new power. Update!
